Collection: Tablets

A tablet is a wireless, portable personal computer with a touchscreen display. It runs on batteries and has an operating system (OS) that allows users to install and run applications. The first tablet was the Apple iPad, which was introduced in 2010.
Tablets are smaller and lighter than laptops, making them more convenient for carrying around. They're also more affordable than laptops, making them a good choice for budget-conscious shoppers.
While tablets are mostly used for entertainment, they can also be used for productivity. Some tablets come with keyboards and can be used for tasks such as word processing and creating presentations.
Tablets have become increasingly popular in recent years. In 2015, global tablet shipments reached 205 million units, up from 172 million in 2014, according to market research firm IDC.
The popularity of tablets has been driven by the success of the iPad. Apple has sold more than 300 million iPads since 2010. Other tablet makers, such as Samsung and Amazon, have also been successful in the market.
The tablet market is expected to continue to grow in the coming years. IDC projects that global tablet shipments will reach 316 million units in 2019.
